decide. takes a personal view on the issue of suicide. I was led to film the subject of suicide by personal experiences and conversations circling the topic. Suicide is a very taboo issue, but one that needs to be talked about. Suicide is a preventable death and one of the ways to combat it, is to start talking about it.

Leaving the statistics and data behind, decide. explores the emotional fragments of premature death. decide. uses a simple approach to documenting its story-teller’s anecdote, capturing images from one angle and keeping the focus on what is being said. There is something attractive about the very human and honest part of people’s stories. Video is an intuitive way to capture those stories in an honest, non-scripted method. To encapsulate people’s feelings and be able to show others what emotions suicide evokes is the purpose of using film.
